Customer FAQs

What happens to your request, who may contact you and what the service does—and does not—promise.

Request a free quote
Is Derbyshire Home Quotes free to use?

Yes. It costs nothing to submit a quote request, and there is no obligation to accept any quote or proceed with the work.

Is Derbyshire Home Quotes a contractor?

No. We are an independent local quote-matching service. The contractor who contacts you is responsible for assessing, quoting for and completing the work.

What happens after I submit my request?

We review the project details and look for a local contractor whose services and coverage appear suitable. If they accept the introduction, they will contact you to discuss the project and usually arrange a site visit.

How many contractors will receive my details?

We share your request with one matched contractor at a time. If that contractor cannot help, we may try another, up to a maximum of three contractors for the same request.

What if I have already contacted local contractors?

Tell us which companies you have already approached. We will use that information when matching your request so we do not knowingly introduce you to the same business again.

Do you guarantee or endorse the contractors?

No. Derbyshire Home Quotes does not guarantee a contractor’s workmanship, availability or pricing. Before agreeing to work, you should check relevant insurance, references, previous work and the terms of the written quote.

Will I receive several quotes to compare?

Not automatically. Our current service introduces your request to one suitable contractor at a time. You remain free to obtain other quotes independently.

Do I need exact measurements or know which surface I want?

No. A rough size and a description of what you need are enough to begin. You can select “not sure” where appropriate, and the contractor can advise after assessing the site.

Is the price given through the website final?

No price is provided or guaranteed by Derbyshire Home Quotes. The contractor will normally need to inspect the site before confirming an accurate written quote.

Does submitting the form commit me to anything?

No. It is only a request to be contacted about a quote. You decide whether to arrange a visit, accept a quote or proceed with any work.

Contractor FAQs

The pilot is intentionally simple: manually checked opportunities, clear terms and no subscription.

Join the contractor pilot
What types of contractors can join?

The pilot is currently for driveway and groundworks businesses serving Derby and Derbyshire, including block paving, resin-bound surfacing, tarmac, gravel, drainage and site preparation.

What counts as a qualified lead?

A qualified lead includes a Derbyshire location, an owner or authorised decision-maker, a relevant project need, approximate size, budget, timing, valid contact details and permission to be contacted.

What will I see before accepting a lead?

You will receive an anonymised summary covering the area, job type, approximate size, budget, timing and relevant project details. Personal contact information is shared only after you accept the lead.

Are leads exclusive?

Leads are offered to one contractor at a time through Derbyshire Home Quotes. Exclusivity does not prevent the homeowner from obtaining quotes independently elsewhere.

How much does a lead cost?

The first suitable pilot lead is free in return for honest feedback. The proposed test price for the next comparable lead offered exclusively through Derbyshire Home Quotes is £35, agreed before any personal details are shared. There is no subscription or ongoing commitment.

Can I decline a lead?

Yes. You can decline an anonymised opportunity if the location, project, value or timing is unsuitable. There is no charge for declining it.

Does accepting a lead guarantee the job?

No. A lead is a genuine opportunity to quote, not a guaranteed sale. The homeowner remains free to decline, postpone the project or choose another contractor.

What if the contact details are invalid?

If the supplied phone number or email is confirmed to be invalid, contact Derbyshire Home Quotes promptly so the lead can be reviewed. A verified invalid lead will be replaced or credited. A homeowner simply not answering does not automatically make the lead invalid.

Can I specify the work and locations I want?

Yes. Contractors can provide their coverage area, project types, minimum job value and current availability so unsuitable opportunities can be filtered out.

What are my responsibilities when receiving customer details?

Use the details only to respond to that specific quote request, keep them secure and do not add the customer to unrelated marketing without separate permission.
